Wake County NC Jail Visitation

If you would like to visit an inmate, you may schedule a video visitation. All video visitations must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance and are conducted at the Wake County Detention Center on 3301 Hammond Road, Raleigh. 

All video visitations are carefully monitored and recorded.

 

Visiting Hours

Monday 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Tuesday 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

No visits will be permitted on Wake County holidays. To schedule an inmate visitation, call 919-857-9103. You may schedule an appointment Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

 

Rules for Visitation

Like all jail facilities, the Wake County Detention Center has specific rules that inmates and visitors must follow. Failure to comply with the rules will result in the termination of your visit and the possible loss of visit privileges.

  • Each inmate will be allowed two visitors per week. Both visitors MUST visit at the same time. 
  • Each visitation session lasts up to 30 minutes.
  • Visitors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or adult.
  • All visitors 16 and over must present a government-issued photo ID.
  • You cannot bring inmate property or money to the visitation.
  • Visitors caught attempting to bring contraband into the Detention Center will be prosecuted.
  • All visitors must comply with the dress code before being allowed to enter the Detention Center.
  • Visitors who appear under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be allowed to visit inmates.
  • Visitors who are disruptive will not be allowed to visit inmates.
  • Once the visitation time expires, visitors must promptly leave the Detention Center when prompted by the correctional officers.
  • Only registered visitors may visit. If a visitor refuses to give information to the correctional officer, they will be denied visitation.
  • Wake County Detention Center staff reserve the right to refuse visitation to any visitor for any reason deemed necessary for the safety of inmates and staff.
