Virginia Beach County VA Jail Visitation

If you would like to visit an inmate, you can visit in person and through video visitations. Understanding the rules and regulations of each visitation opportunity is essential. 

 

Video Visitations 

If you would like to participate in video visitations with inmates, you will need to first register for an account at https://www.gettingout.com/. Video visitations can be conducted on any web-enabled device at a cost of $0.25 per minute.

 

On-Site Visitations

Inmates are allowed one 25-minute on-site visitation per week. Visits may be canceled by the Correctional Center staff at any time and for any reason, including inmate disciplinary action.

There are no in-person contact visitations at the Correctional Center. All visits take place via video terminals. The following rules apply to on-site video visitations. 

  • Visitors must schedule a visit at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Each inmate may have a total of up to three visitors, including children. At least one visit must be an adult.
  • Visitors may schedule an on-site visit up to seven days in advance.
  • Visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times.
  • Visitors must arrive 15 minutes prior to their visitation appointment and must present a valid government-issued photo ID.
  • On-site visitations are allowed on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., and 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Sundays from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

 

Dress Code for On-Site Visitations

  • Visitors must remain fully clothed and wear shoes at all times.
  • Do not wear clothing that is see-through, excessively tight, or revealing.
  • Hems of skirts, dresses, and shorts should not exceed four inches above the knees.
  • Do not wear halter tops, spaghetti straps, tube tops, or tank tops.
  • Appropriate undergarments must be worn.
  • Do not bring handbags, backpacks, diaper bags, cell phones, or electronics. Visitors may rent storage lockers to store their belongings during an on-site visit.
  • All visitors are subject to being searched.
  • All on-site video visits are monitored and recorded. 
  • Emergency visits must be approved by the Watch Commander by calling 757-385-4915.
