Los Angeles County CA Jail Visitation
If you would like to schedule an inmate visitation, you will need to schedule it in advance. Please arrive at least 60 minutes before the start of your visitation appointment.
The following are the rules you must follow for visitation at the Los Angeles County Jail.
- All visitors must register prior to scheduling an appointment. Find the inmate’s name and choose a time slot to schedule an appointment. If there is an “N” in the time slot, this means the inmate is not eligible for visitations at this time.
- All inmates receive two 30-minute visitation sessions per week.
- Inmates are allowed to have a maximum of three visitors per visitation, and children count towards the total.
- You may only bring your photo ID and a single key to the visitation floor.
- All visitors must bring their confirmation number, receipt, and a government-issued photo ID. Failure to bring these will result in the cancellation of the visitation.
- You must pay for parking with cash only.
- A parent or legal guardian must accompany all minors under the age of 17. Children must be supervised at all times.
- Visitors are prohibited if they have been to state prison or are currently on parole or probation.
- While the jail does allow walk-in visits, these are not recommended because they are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and you could be turned away if the spots are filled.
There is a visitor dress code in place, and the rules must be strictly followed. Failure to follow the dress code will result in the visitation being canceled.
- No gang affiliate clothing is allowed.
- No see-through clothing is allowed.
- All visitors must be fully dressed and wear shoes.
- Swimsuits, bare midriffs, strapless tops, and tube tops are forbidden.
- The top of the clothing can go no lower than the armpit in the front and back.
- Shorts and skirts must be of an appropriate length.
- Shorts must cover the buttocks and crotch, both when standing and sitting.
- No clothing with sexual graphics, wording, or depictions is allowed.
- Shoes must remain on at all times.
- Do not remove clothing or expose body parts.
- Visitors are not allowed to bring drugs or alcohol to the jail. If caught bringing drugs, you will serve a mandatory three-year sentence.
- Visitors who are disruptive or not following rules will be asked to leave.
- Cell phones, electronic devices, and cameras are strictly forbidden.
- Do not bring tobacco products, lighters, vapes, or matches.
- Do not bring hand sanitizer.
- Do not bring weapons of any kind to the jail.
- Do not bring writing materials.
- Do not bring makeup, skincare products, or perfumes.
- Do not bring plastic products in any form.
All personal items must be stored in designated lockers. Follow the orders of the correctional officers at all times.
