Jackson County MO Jail Visitation

 

Since 2018, the Jackson County Jail has allowed inmates video visitations with friends and family members, though specific rules apply. To schedule a video visit with an inmate, you must visit videovisitanywhere.com. You can also download the Securus app on the Apple Store or Google Play. 

 

The rules for scheduling an inmate video visit include the following:

 

  • All visitors must register for an account, take a photo, and present a valid photo ID. Video visits will not be scheduled until the registration process is complete. 
  • Remote visitations are available 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
  • Visitors must arrive on time for each video visitation. 
  • Nudity, near nudity, or depictions of nudity will result in the termination of the video visit. 
  • Visitors cannot use abusive language or exhibit abusive behavior. 
  • Do not record, live stream, or rebroadcast the video visit. Cell phones and cameras are not allowed to be seen within the frame. 
  • Do not conduct a video visit while operating a motor vehicle.
  • Do not display drugs, alcohol, paraphernalia, or drug depictions. 
  • Do not display gang signs or colors.
  • Do not display weapons of any kind. 
  • No sexual acts, gestures, or depictions are allowed.

 


Violating any of the above rules will result in the immediate termination of the video visit. It is important to remember that all video visits are monitored and recorded. Penalties for violating the rules include the following. 

 

  • 1st offense-90-day restriction from both video and in-person visitation
  • 2nd offense-permanent loss of video and in-person visitation 
  • It is possible to face criminal prosecution, depending on the severity of the violation

In-Person Visitations

 

Inmates are also allowed to have in-person visitors, with rules strictly enforced. 

 

    • Visitors must follow all instructions given by the correctional officers. 
    • If the inmate has a professional appointment, clinic appointment, or pre-scheduled program, the visitation appointment will be canceled. 
    • All minors under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian. 
    • All adult visitors must present a valid government-issued photo ID. Any fake or altered IDs will be confiscated by the jail staff. 
  • All outer garments, including hoodies, jackets, and raincoats must be removed. Lockers are provided for visitors. 
  • No nudity, see-through clothing, or clothing that exposes body parts will be allowed. 
  • Visitors appearing to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be permitted to visit. 
  • Children must be directly supervised at all times during the visit. 
  • Profanity and obscene gestures and words are prohibited. Conversations must be carried out at a normal volume.
  • Visitors cannot give anything to inmates. Failure to follow this rule could result in arrest. 
  • All visitors must pass through a metal detector and are subject to being searched by jail staff. 
  • All visitors are subject to police checks.
  • All inmate visits are limited to 30 minutes. 
  • In-person visits must be scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
